Yeah! I made a Sweets Canister

Yeah! I made a sweets canister today. I used an empty steel cut oatmeal can instead of a paint can, a sheet of 12"x12" paper, borders, 3-d stickers, die cuts and a resin flower. All leftovers from a kit that I bought awhile back. Anyway, the book I used is Laurie Dewberry's "Paper Every Day". this book has tons of pictures so it was real easy to follow. There's 30 projects in the book. This is a great book if your looking to downsize your paper stash. Some of the projects are: a personalized memo clipboard, art supply canisters {which I varied ans made myself a sweets canister}, dial-a-chore chart, greeting cards, favor box, invites, calendar,gift bags, cd/dvd holder, keepsake frames and much, much more.

Book Review - Real Vampires Have Curves

Gerry Bartlett's book "Real Vampires Have Curves" is a fun read. When I ordered this book I had doubts that I'd like it. But as I read it, it grew on me. I love the fact that Gorly is full figured. Her wisecracker dog, Valdez is great. I found myself giggling aloud throughout the book. I'm looking forward to reading the next novel "Real Vampires Live Large". {Due out in July of 2007}

America 400 Parade in Bury St Edmunds

Today my hubbie and I took the girls and their friend up to Bury St Edmunds to enjoy the "America 400 Parade". This event commemorates the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown, VA, by Bartholomew Gosnold. Who was an English explorer (he was born in Suffolk in the 1500s and died in Jamestown in 1607. 1602 was when he sailed to the future New England, but in 1607 he played an inportant role in establishing the first permanent English colony in North America. we had a great time during the celebration and enjoyed the entertainment they had. There was alot to see and do. I took over 100 pictures but chose only a few to post here. I think 100 is just a bit much. Anyway, the pics are just some of the things we enjoyed today. I'm so exhausted, after I post this its off to bed.

This is not the original gate, back in 1327 the gate was damaged when townsfolk plundered the Abbey and kidnapped the Abbot. In the mid 14th century , the current gate was built alongside the original.

They had beautiful flowers up there. I'm going to have to go back again to check out the rest of the gardens. Especially once everything is in full bloom.

This was the first time I saw a "Punch and Judy Show" and I enjoyed it as much as the girls did. There was also a little fun fair and free craft activities for the kids.

Well, I could get close enough to hear every thing this man was saying but there was a large diplay of old weapons, from guns, knives, axes, pelts, hunting traps, and so much more. Way cool stuff!

These were way cool, and they still run, all of them. Even the motorcycle. I think they were from WWII.

Panic! Last minute Birthday invite

Well, my hubbie can home about noon today and tells me that the my girls have a part to go to at 2p.m. today. I hate last minute invites. I had to run around and find the girls clothes to wear to the party. Of course there was no time to run to the store to grab a gift, so I decided to do cash. But of course I only had a fiver and some change. So I put the fiver inside the card and attached the change on the outside. Anyway, I made a really super quick card, using a oval punch, butterfly punch and some butterfly diecuts. This is what I ended up with:

I put 3 £1.00 coins on butterfly diecuts and a £2.00 coin for the center of the flower.



Well, I'm glad that's done. My girls are at the party now. That gives me about 2 hours to work on some overlays. ;o)

Freebie {PinkuPixie May Wallpaper}

Well, I've been working on a calendar wallpaper. Made 3 sizes. the 1440x900 is for wide screen monitors. The 1024x768 is for regualr size monitors. The third size, 1280x1024 is what my monitor size is {17"}. All wallpaper are in PNG format. All you have to do is open the wallpaper up in your photo editing software {like PSP, PI, PSE, PSCS2 and etc.} add your pics behind the wallpaper.I had to do a little bit of cropping to my pics. Once you've done that simply flatten the image and save it as a JPG file. Then go to your desktop, right-click and select properties. Click on desktop tab, then browse button and select your wallpaper file. Click open, then okay. Here's a screen shot of this month's wallpaper.
